The ND556 is a high performance microstepping driver using pure-sinusoidal wave current control technology. Current and microstep settings are selected by DIP switches.

Leadshine's patented pure-sinusoidal drive technology offers smoother motion than a standard microstepping driver. This results in less resonance, higher achievable speed, lower motor heating, and longer machine life.

To further lower motor heating and save energy, the driver will optionally reduce the motor current to 60% when the motor has been sitting stationary for half a second.

The ND556 is suitable for a wide range of NEMA 17 and 23 stepping motors and suits various kinds of machines, including as X-Y tables, labeling machines, laser cutters, engraving machines, and pick-place devices.
