By placing an order with Ocean Controls, you agree to be bound by our Terms and Conditions of Trade.

Faulty Goods and Warranty 

Where such goods have been supplied we undertake to repair or replace them as quickly as possible.Prior to returning faulty items, please contact us with a description of the fault as one of our engineers might be able to assist you by resolving the issue over the phone.
A Warranty form must be filled out and returned with any goods.

Our standard warranty period is 12 months from the date of purchase unless stated otherwise.

Other warranty periods:

Labjack Products: 5 Years
Atop Products: 3 Years
MeanWell Products: 3 Years
Terracom Products: 3 Years

Warranty is subject to us being satisfied that a defect was caused by defective workmanship or materials and was not caused by or was not substantially contributed to by other factors beyond our control including incorrect installation, alterations or modifications of the product not recommended by the manufacturer.

Returns Policy

If you are dissatisfied with our goods you may return them within 14 days of the dispatch date. Contact us for authorisation and we will refund your purchase less shipping costs and restocking fees. All returned goods MUST be in AS NEW condition including ALL PACKAGING and DOCUMENTATION / MANUALS etc.

Please note:

  • The product returned will attract a 20% restocking fee.
  • The customer must pay the delivery costs.
  • Non standard, custom made or a specially manufactured or imported products are not returnable.
  • Semiconductors, books and software are not refundable

Delivery Options

The website will calculate the freight cost for your goods based on the weight, volume and destination. 

Deliveries in Australia are shipped by Australian Express Post by default. If the goods are in stock we will dispatch your order within 2 business days. Tracking number will be sent to you email together with the invoice.

If you require a different shipping method please Contact us with your couriers account number.

  • Shipping Outside Australia:

Ocean Controls only offers international shipping methods that can be tracked.

Our international delivery methods include Australia Post International(Express and parcel post),and Fedex (Priority and Economy). This options and their costs are displayed as part of the checkout procedure on the website before the order is finalised.
If you want to use your own courier, please provide Courier name and account number under Customer Note, prior to finalise your order.

International freight costs are calculated by the website based on the weight, volume and destination and include insurance. You may be required to sign for insured packages at your local post office (policies vary from region to region).

If you cannot select your country as a destination with our website it is likely because special insurance, freight or tracking requirements prevent the calculation of freight costs.  Contact us directly to find out about shipping options to your address.

If the goods are in stock we will dispatch your order within 2 business days. Tracking number will be sent to you email together with the invoice.

Please note all that our terms are Ex Works. (Our responsibility ends when the package leaves our facility.)
Customs Duties and Taxes if payable are customer's responsibility.

  • Shipping On Your Freight Account:

The website will allow you to provide us with the account details and contact information for a courier of your choice. We will pack the items and book your carrier on your account to pick up and deliver your items.

For example, you can provide us with UPS or FedEx account details or specify Couriers Please receiver pays to use your tokens.

  • Goods Lost or Damaged in Transit:

We ship thousands of parcels a year with only 2 or 3 lost or damaged. Insured international airmail packages are insured against loss. All other methods of delivery eg Express Post, Courier do not normally have insurance and our responsibility for the goods ceases when the goods are handed over to the nominated carrier. Risk on the goods are passed to you when the goods leave our warehouse. If you require insurance in case of loss or damage to goods please Contact us.

Not withstanding this you may have a claim against the carrier if negligence can be proven on their behalf. If you suspect your order may have arrived damaged, i.e. carton crushed or obviously dropped, take the matter up with the carrier. We recommend you do not open the parcel except in the presence of the carrier, e.g. to verify the existence of damage or otherwise.

Shop Hours and Stock

Our shop front is open Monday to Friday 9AM to 5PM, except public holidays. You're welcome to come speak to our staff and make / pick up orders. We have Visa, MasterCard and EFTPOS facilities. (The website also accepts American Express but this facility is not available at the shop front.)

Stock Levels:

We endeavour to keep the stock levels shown on the website as accurate as possible, however, we also accept in-person, phone and fax orders. Most items we sell are kept in stock but some are ordered in a Just-in-Time process from a local supplier.

Paying For Items:

Prices on the website can be displayed in Australian Dollars, plus a number of foreign currencies. Please note prices in foreign currencies are only approximate. The website will charge credit cards in Australian dollars and the final exchange rate for international cards is set by your bank.

By default, prices on the website are displayed in Australian dollars excluding GST. Display of prices in other currencies can be selected on the top right of any page. 10% GST applies to goods delivered in Australia.

The website will allow you to select from the following payment options:

  • Secure online payment with Mastercard, Visa or American Express
  • Payment by phone with Mastercard or Visa
  • Bank Transfer (Australian or international orders - international bank transfers are subject to a $20 surcharge)
  • 30 Day From EOM Account for approved customers (or Australian government organisations or Australian universities)

Price Breaks

The website will apply discounts for bulk purchases for all customers.
Price breaks and discount levels vary from item to item but are typically 10% discount for 5+ and 15% discount for 10+.

Company Orders (30 Day Accounts):

If you are a company with an ABN you can apply to set up an account with us. Contact us for details. Once approved, we ship goods upon receiving your order with a valid PO number and invoice you for payment. The invoice will go to the billing address of your account. Non payment of monies due will be cause to stop supply.

Australian government organisations and Australian universities are automatically granted a 30 day accounts. We accept orders from these organisations by email. Orders must show the organisation's letterhead.

Wholesale Customers:

If you are an OEM or wish to be a re-seller you can apply for wholesale prices. Contact us for details. As a general guide, to qualify for wholesale rates an average trading of $300 per month is required. Each order must total $50 minimum value, excluding GST and freight.

Once approved, wholesale customers are issued with a username and password for our website that will allow the purchase of items at wholesale prices. Orders from approved wholesale customers are also accepted by phone, or email.

Recovery of Monies Owed:

In the event that Ocean Controls needs to recover monies owed then all costs of recovering this money will be born by the debtor.

Miscellaneous Products Charges

These items can be placed in your cart for payment of special orders or services as instructed by Ocean Controls staff.
