Fully Isolated RS-232 to RS-422/RS-485 Converter and RS-422/RS-485 Repeater
Converts RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 to RS-422 and RS-485 through a 2.5 kV optical isolation barrier. Female DB-9 for RS-232 and screw terminals for all other connections.
The SW485SGI/C is an isolated converter and repeater for serial networks. It takes RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 on one side, converts it through a 2.5 kV optical isolation barrier and provides RS-422 or RS-485 on the other side.
It can be used as a serial converter (converting between RS-232 and RS485/RS-422) or as an isolated repeater for an RS-485 or RS-422 network. This allows you to extend the length of your RS-485 or RS-422 transmission lines or isolate segments of the line from other sections. It's powered externally by 12 to 36 V AC or DC and requires no configuration or programming.
These are industrial converters and are designed for high reliability. In addition to optical isolation the converter features 600 W surge protection. RS-485 and RS-422 connections are made via pluggable screw terminals and DIN rail mount clips can be purchased separately for easy installation.
