The 3onedata Model232I isolater sits in an RS-232 serial connection and provides 5 kV optical isolation. It draws power from the idle state of the lines on either side (port powered) so there is no electrical connection from one port to the other at all.
The isolator is useful in situations where electrical noise is a concern (motor drives, switchgear, radio systems), where high voltages are involved (powere metering etc) or where separate power supplies result in a ground voltage imbalance.
The isolator requires no configuration or set up. Just plug it in your serial line to benefit from port protection and isolation.

Restocking fee A 20% restocking fee applies to all accepted returns. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility.
