UC400ETH Ethernet Motion Controller
Directly replaces the traditional Parallel port with Ethernet. Can control up to 6-axis with Mach3, Mach4 or UCCNC software. Up to 400kHz step frequency operation. Fast communication with data buffer for robust and stable operation.
Traditional CNC software such as Mach3 uses the computer's parallel port (also known as printer port or LPT) and sending all signals via this port. Windows is not a realtime operating system and therefor it is a difficult and CPU time consuming task for Mach3 to generate these signals in a precise manner. As the output signals frequency gets higher with using todays more and more advanced motor control electronics, Mach3 takes more processor time of the computer. If the computer gets overloaded by Mach3 or by running other software(s) in the background may leads to a lagging of the G-code code execution to even a falter in the motion interpolation which may lead to a catastrophic failure of some applications.
Another problem with is that Parallel Port is obsolete and none of the new computer have this kind of port built in anymore.
The UC400ETH motion controller overcomes these problems by removing all time critical tasks from the control computer and Windows and executing all these tasks inside its own high speed microcontroller. It is a motion controller with ethernet interface. The device can commmunicate with a computer's network card. The connection can be established with direct connection or via a network router/switch.
The UC400ETH can be used with stepper motors or servo motors driver with step and direction signals. It can output a maximum of 400kHz stepping frequency and can drive up to 6-axes.
The UC400ETH can replace 2 standard Parallel Ports through its IDC26 IO ports. The pinout is the same as a standard Parallel Port. That means the UC400ETH can directly replace a Parallel Port on new and existing systems using the appropriate IDC-DSUB25 converter cable.
